Artist's Comments

I created this house in Ulead PhotoImpact, for the Pixville II village at blamethepixel.com. Ulead PhotoImpact is superb for doing this sort of art in my opinion.

Updated on 20/Jun/2006 with a new letterbox number to match my house number at BlameThePixel, and my Mustang in the driveway.

This is good. I wouldn't mind living here, for a while at least. The stair case is really well done, I love how I can see inside of it. Nicely done. :)

Nice.
In my opnion, I think you should use less saturation, and maybe shade more. Maybe try textures in the walls.

Thanks for the suggestions! I've been intending to improve it for ages now, though the main things I want to add are a shadow and a car in the driveway. =D

Halfway there... I've added the car!

Sweeeet...
Those stairs must be a pain to go up all the time though. Me, I'd rather have an elevator. Or a trampoline thing that sends you really high in the air like in the platform games.

hey, not bad. Why do you think PhotoImpact is so good for pixelart, how is it superior to ps (which i use), you only need the pen tool, after all...?

ta da!
:iconplanetbloopy:
For pixel art I don't only use the pen tool. Sometimes I use a selection tool to draw a line, or the fill tool to make a wall a certain colour. I think the selection tools in PI are easier and better than the ones in PS. In PI, you can see very clearly where the pixels are going to go with the lasso tool and you can draw a perfect isometric lines with a bit of practice.

ok, i can see that, i've always had trouble doing isometric lines in ps (always did them pixel by pixel because of that, pain in the ass)

I love this Mustang...the colors of the house are too saturated in my opinion....but is a good house at last :)
